Thee Bells Are A-Ringin' Poem by Robert Beksinski

Thee Bells Are A-Ringin'

Rating: 5.0

A picture of us, ages fifty years in the making

You look beautiful with gray hair

I know I can grow old with you

I thought that then when it began with your smile

We’re young and reckless with a lot ahead of us

That’s how new lovers are, but my mind is made up

It’s clear and it’s staring at me

This trafficless road that leads to the caverns of the sun

Walk there with me, it’s a nice day

Then we can swim in a sea of memories

Just ask a question, make a choice, and live happily ever after

Is it that easy? Only if you know you can travel the distance

The proof for me is in those nervous but ready to plunge baby blue eyes

And how you awoken me from a forgettable life full of dreams

So just leave with me now through those church doors

And never regret a day we spend together

I know I love you, that’s all I need to know
