Their Love Is Evergreen Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Their Love Is Evergreen

Humour Intended:

Her hair is dark brown
although he prefers blonde,
her teeth are tinged cream
but pearly-whites turn him on.

Her eyes are pale green
like those of a kitten,
but with two eyes of blue
he has always been smitten.

She stands six feet tall,
wears high heels to the ball,
if only she were shorter...
same height as his daughter.

But they are in love so
little things do not matter;
they live heart to heart
with a mountain of chatter.

His hair's nonexistent,
she smiles for an instant!
his teeth protrude slightly,
and aren't they unsightly.

His eyes fade to grey
at the end of each day,
he is not very tall and
doesn't dance at the ball.

Long ago he was handsome
just like her young brother,
in the days of his youth
he could be anyone's lover.

But yes, they're in love,
to him she's a queen.
she prefers older men
and their love is evergreen.
