Their Minds For Words Poem by Francis Duggan

Their Minds For Words

Their minds for words do have a huge appetite
The writers as we know are born to write
And though some may be seen as unworthy of note
There will always be the novelist the playwright and poet
When people write of writers block and of writers drought
I do tend to wonder what they are on about
For the poet and the playwright and novelist to write is a natural thing
As natural as 'tis for the bird for to whistle in Spring
In life there is so much to write of 'twould seem
And to be published a boost to the author's self esteem
Writers like all others the thought of failure do fear
And 'tis only of published writers we mostly do hear
Though all of it's wordsmiths the wordsmith trade does need
You too keep on writing as you too may succeeed.
