Lana Katina
There is never a goodbye
As a form of love you kept on fighting,
though we knew you weren't surviving
We watched you fall, and pick yourself up
You told us you were going away, though we knew
you fought hard to stay,
once you were gone, everything became a blur
as I knew you wouldn't be coming home any more,
walking down the hall of your house, I pictured you there
but as I kept on walking I couldn't find you anywhere.
So I broke into tears and wondered when you were coming home
there I broke down all alone, I pictured you were right beside me
which made the tears come down even more
but then I remembered what you told me,
you promised you'd never leave
promised you'll forever and always continue to be
right there inside my heart, right there inside me.

Poet's Notes about The Poem
Though not everyone has gone through loss, many of us had.
It may not have been your grandpa you lost like I did but you can feel the emptiness inside you when someone you love with all your heart suddenly disappears, but just remember, They'll always be right where you left them. Your heart.
