They Can'T Take My Dignity Poem by Andreas Vanezis

They Can'T Take My Dignity

Rating: 5.0

Moon seems closer then it has ever been,
The sun farther in the sky.
Ocean's seem more shallow then I've ever seen,
The mountains farther from my eyes.

Words seem colder then I've ever known,
The silence warmer with a lie.
Birds seem lower then they've ever flown.
The fish float higher, time is nigh.

We can write the sweetest melody,
From enlightened heart and mind.
Don't bank on our serenity,
To hollow bind, enshrined.
