Things I Lost In Battle

Floating on a crystalized star, far above the universe, lays my heart broken and shattered. 'Who hurt you', they will ask. His name tears at the misplaced shards of my hearts ruins. He killed my mellow wished for love with the vaccancy of his. He turned my butterflies into crawling spiders, and melted my heart to stone.
I loved him past my heart, into my soul, he loved with neither. For my restless heart to find closure, my feelings for him most find the pathway to eternal rest. My love for him may well be my internal demise. Wise ones say 'better to have loved and lost, than to not have loved at all.' But my battle weary heart murmurs in protest. With the puncture wounds on my heart left by love I find it hard to value the love I lost. This lost love pushes along the lines of my satiny.
