This Beauty Poem by Dan Medina

This Beauty

It is this beauty that goes unnoticed
It is this beauty that flows below the depths of common perception
It is this beauty that is sought and discovered, not noticed in sight

For this beauty, can there be analogy?
To describe it as words which run off their page?
A sonnet of endless age?
Thus this truth - no word can wage.

Though this beauty can be seen by those who seek.
For many see what lies on top.
A beauty there? There seems to be,
but one small flaw and many flee.

This beauty is seen, from not above.
For many are blind- by heartless love.
But only this beauty can be expressed,
from those longing from brisk unrest.

To see not fault. To seek not blunder.
To see truth in who we are.
To find a jewel as precious as gems, as common as air.
For this beauty is seen in all who share,
a heart, a mind, a love- to truly care.

This beauty exists in all who thrive.
Yet who shall see? And who shall strive?
