This Child Poem by Stephen Buckley

This Child

This child so fragile, yet innocent and true,
Her heart once broken in peices of two,
Her confusion of life never knowing quite why,
Has surely made this little girl cry,
Just to comfort with a hug is all that it takes,
Her proudness and faith tested beyond doubt,
As she journeys through life, wandering what it's all about,
She looks at her mom with a wondering eye,
Her face full of questions, never knowing quite why,
Love will pass this child every day of her life,
This mother and friend is all she will need,
She is clever and pretty, too wise some may say,
She should smile each morning as she greets the new day,
As time passes by she will always remember,
The loss of a parent so dear and so tender,
I look in her eyes so brave yest so sweet,
And I see the furure for her,
New people she has met, new people she will meet,
Soon she will be a woman, and a family of her own,
Her mothers' love will be there,
Just like she has always known.
