This Ends Tonight Poem by Jerry Silver

This Ends Tonight

We never had much to talk about..
Silence even in the noisiest of rooms..
Whenever i looked in your direction, you knowingly looked away..
Always one step ahead of me..
Well tonight.....
We'll change how the world works.
We change our lives.. Our future.. Forever.
You never know what you're doing anymore..
You pretend to be busy chasing your tail, but you're not fooling anyone.
I used to catch you when you fell, but now I'm the reason your world is in a vertigo state.
What have we become..?
I've taught you better than this..
I thought you changed but I guess I was wrong.
What a surprise..
I'll make sure you learn your lesson this time.
I will not fail.
If you think this is going to save you, if you think anything is going to save you.. consider this your final warning.
I grow weary of this cat and mouse game..
These back and forth attacks on each other..
Well tonight..
Tonight might be a different night, but it feels so much like yesterday..
Yesterday seemed so much like the day before.
These days go on forever..
Well tonight I'll let you escape..
I'll let you drift into eternity..
Let me know what waits for me when I reach you once again..
But for tonight...
You look so beautiful when you sleep..
It's almost a shame..
You didn't even feel the cold on your neck..
I thought I'd give you a warning..
What a waste of time.
The truest shade of crimson I have ever seen and I savored every moment..
It doesn't matter how much you think you love a person..
You'll always step back when the pool of their blood edges up to close.
You never thought this was going to happen..
A relatively good life, living it as a routine and not a blessing.
I hope you enjoyed your last day here with me..
This time, I was one step ahead.
Now you can't look away when i want to see those beautiful eyes that sink into infinity.
I'll gouge those jewels out in the most intricate of forms..
Ill tear your tongue out with my hand..
You won't need it..
We never had much to talk about anyway....
Silence..
So many people in one room, yet, there's hardly any noise..
The smell of formaldehyde and pinewood..
The most perfect combination for revenge.
Once again, you're the center of attention.
Even in death..
Closed casket..
What a shame.
Nobody will get to see my art....
My Masterpiece.
How selfish of you.. My one accomplishment in life and you won't show it to the world.
Still a bit**.
even in death.
Well tonight I'll change it up a little.
The smell of gas doesn't bother anybody..
What about smoke?
Trapped again..
You've fooled me..
Even in death.
A four-walled death cell that used to be a family room..
The flames consume your body, and as for me..
I wait.
Just a few more seconds I get to admire my work..
The fire will reach me soon enough..
This is the end of us..
And it ends tonight.
