This Feeling Poem by Neil Glass

This feeling that I have, this feeling in my heart, the ache in my sole,

My stomach turns, my insides heave, and I feel all dizzy and sick

I think, I think I’m in love.



But you don’t know it, you don’t know me at all, I’m just a stranger from afar,

I see you every day, I watch as you pass by,

Not knowing that I’m there you continue on your way,



Then one day as you stop to say hello I try to speak but the words aren’t there,

My eyes grow, my heart quickens, and a blush comes to my cheeks,

You smile and I glow,



You say my name; I can’t believe it I thought you never knew me,

My life’s in flames this feeling, my desire is it real, is it me.

This feeling that I have inside maybe, just maybe you have that feeling too.
