THIS IS WHY

I don't tell
because I know
you'll deny

I don't tell
because I know
It will end in a fight

But
when i told
you asked
me 'why'

Why?
because
I feel left out

Why?
because
I KNOW that
I'll always be 'the weirdo'

Why?
because
I just want to scream at someone
but I know i can't

Why?
because
my sister gets all the attention

Why?
because now, there's ANOTHER
baby in the house

Why?
because I'm tired
of being
'the big sister'

Why?
because
I HEAR them
talking about me

Why?
because
I want
to move on

Why?
because they think
I'm a boy
but I don't want to change

Why?
because
nobody understands

Why?
because
you just
don't get it

Why?
because
I don't want to grow up

Why?
because
I need her now
more than ever

Poem of the Day

poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

When the hours of Day are numbered,
And the voices of the Night
Wake the better soul, that slumbered,
To a holy, calm delight;

Ere the evening lamps are lighted,
