This Morning Poem by Felix Emeka George

This Morning

I woke up this morning
This Saturday morning
I felt fatigued and tired
Lying in my cosy bed
Staring through the window,
Welcoming the morning sun, dawn
My nerves feeling evoked by the flame
That turned my darling desire thinking.
I am missing my one and only

Desire makes my mind wander
As I take my melon soup and pounded yam, pondering
Like wanting a jocund embrace
A child liking a bird
Here, that is something my heart desired.
My heart longing for you this morning.
