This Place Is Me Poem by craig smith

This Place Is Me

escape
down a darken path
following my inner child

deafening screams carried by the wind
alone with him
I touch myself to feel alive
overcome by darkness

bare branches
burnt from the wind
reaching, reacting to me

black clouds
bleed red, like blood
horrors created by
my inner child’s mind

where is this place
this place is me
