This World A Burning House: A Warning Poem by Richard St. Clair

This World A Burning House: A Warning

Rating: 5.0

Like every cat I'm filled with curiosity
About how people here and there do think,
And, that discovered, I can't catch a wink
Thinking of what I see as rife pomposity.
True peace on earth today is but a dream,
For many a solipsistic pose, I say!
Most nations' vanities get in the way
Of resolution: in denial they scream.
Nathless, I shout alarums of reality,
Hoping some will see the dangers in this world
As it heats up, by dread severe storms hurled,
And act to heal the wounded world's insanity.
O, my poems, I do hope, will have effect,
Though much too late, I, weeping, do suspect.
