Those Butterfly Wings Poem by Conor O'Neill

Those Butterfly Wings

Great monarch butterfly
Weightless colorful wings
Plucked off with a devilish smile
By tiny little fingers
'Please stick 'em back on for me Daddy'
'Of course my child I will
Go fetch me some glue and a hammer
And I'll fix those butterfly wings'!

An excellent message - human kind so often tries to fix what he has already broken beyond repair, with methods more brutal than those that caused the destruction in the first place.
