Those Drowned Emigrants Poem by MOHAMMAD SKATI

Those Drowned Emigrants

Our world is greatly cruel In what we see and in What we know For ever and ever... This selfish and careless world of ours Has a big responsibility Towards everyone and towards everything, but All in vain... We do not trust this world of ours Simply because of its selfishness and Simply because of its ugly arrogance anytime... Even good and able-bodied swimmers can drown In those remote and big seas Anywhere and even everywhere... Our current only consists of Careless and ignorant on-lookers... Instead of helping those displaced emigrants, Our ugly world does not care about their Innocent souls and about their unheard cries Amid dark, big, and even scary oceans and seas... Our world's conscience is dead, so What shall we do to fix it? ! ____________________________________________________________________

There are people who are trying to help. More concern and help is needed though. Bringing issues to light, as you have done in your poem, is a good start. Thank you

Their help is late and absolutely not enough. Thanks, great poetess.
