Those One Words Poem by Urania Lacayo

Those One Words

In the very pit of my heart,
lies a sudden emptiness.
That makes me feel,
alone in the dark.
Which causes a sudden wave
of emotion,
fear and
regret.

I'm surrounded by strangers.
Going day by day.
Unaffected by the pain
and ever changing loneliness.
That derives from my inner home,
This home I no longer feel safe in,
is seeping through my skin,
onto my every day expression.

To be alone,
is a beautiful pain.
It conquers any good,
amoungst the timeline of sorrows and glee.
To overcome all of these terrorizing thoughts,
that lurk in the shadows of every
sleepless night,
every minuscule dream
and every waking moment.

Stranded,
stuck in this form.
Killing my spirit.
Slowly, but surely,
and painfully,
awake.
