Thou Ripp'st away from me my Heart Again,
Tender and Burning - Please take it Away.
Love Lights soft Fires which often Grow in Pain,
Thou dous'd the Flames ere they Faded to Grey.
Living without a Heart's a sight to see -
As 'twere a Soul with no earth-bound Frame,
Wand'ring, so lost, in the mist-laden Sea.
My Soul's long Journey Home once Again,
Begins with words carefully wrought for thee:
Whose sole purpose is to plainly convey,
The tender Affection which quells within -
My Blue Spirit tries so hard to play
In tune with thine tho' thou think'st it a Sin.
Thy Love's needed the most during the Days,
Which dims in Quiet Absence of thy Soul's Rays.
