Though Ludicrous

Still but a few live truly blessed
Still but a few have hope
Confusion reigns from east to west
And few know how to cope

The devil’s out to cheat and kill
Sow doubt in every heart
Conceal from us our Father’s will
And tear mankind apart

Too ludicrous to contemplate!
Yet none the less its true
He’s out to flood the world with hate
And cloud The Truth from view

It seems absurd, perhaps insane
Believing Satan rules
Thus many walk through life in vain
And die the death of fools

There’s nowhere love, there’s nowhere peace
Few people seem to care
How can our situation cease
Rebellion’s everywhere

Why must we live and die this way?
Why must the devil reign?
Why don’t we hear what God would say?
By turning once again

Let’s seek His face like saints of old
Let’s knock on Heaven’s Door
Believe the things Christ Jesus told
And bend our knees once more

It can’t be bad or any worse
Let’s try as in the past
Perhaps He’ll end this dreadful curse
And give us peace at last
