You spoke and forgot
For you it was nought,
Careless words from your tongue,
Pierced my heart to the core,
Just like waves
that crash on to the shore,
And play havoc with the sand
so white,
A wrong that is not right,
But destiny has forced my hand,
I have to settle
like the sand,
And wait to receive the pounding,
And consequently, the pain,
And I give in,
Again and again and again,
till the sand has settled,
And calm does reign....
