Thoughts Of Life Poem by Marilyn Lott

Thoughts Of Life

Rating: 5.0

Once again, Easter is nearby
So much has changed hasn't it?
Piling on one after another
From our childhood till we quit.

Well, nothing can last forever
And that includes people too
So many memories, oh my
I know it's the same for you.

Each age it is so different
Like leaves blowing in the wind
Our kids, grands and greats
All become a blur and blend.

Children growing up and gone
We may see them or not
Maybe they have to work
Easter is in that slot.

Not babies anymore they are
Growing so old, so are we
Maybe moved away so far
Not here now for you and me.

But we make the best of it
We cook and we clean
Not knowing what's up ahead
For life can certainly be mean.

I don't want this poem
To be sad at all, my dear
Happy Easter to you and yours
Then hopefully another next year!
