Three Young Men From Millstreet Poem by Francis Duggan

Three Young Men From Millstreet

Their photo on the Millstreet web site a great memory for friends and family to recall
Of the three young men from Millstreet who for Putney F C play football
A photo worthy of being enlarged and hung on a family pictorial wall
On saying three excellent ambassadors for Ireland Sean Radley said it all.

Karl Guiney, Fergal Collins and Conor Hartnett the red of Putney may wear
But more than that far more than that one special bond they share
That they do hail from Millstreet Town in view of Clara mountain far away
From Australia's biggest City where they do live today.

Three young people from Millstreet Town where the Finnow waters flow
Through the old fields by the old Town and by many a hedgerow
They share many similar memories to which they can relate
And good memories of what once was do not have a use by date.

Their photo on the Millstreet Web Site says more than words can say
Of the three young men from Millstreet who for the one Sydney club do play
Suppose after their game at the weekend for a beer and a chat they meet
And they talk about the old days in their Hometown of Millstreet.
