Through My Eyes.... Poem by Manager Poet

I watched a grandmother give a bottle to her granddaughter today.
Through my eyes, I see the love only a grandmother can convey.
What do you see when the needs of the few are not being met?
Will you learn before it is too late so you will never regret?

There will come a time when my beautiful daughter will marry.
Through my eyes, she will always be Daddy’s little fairy.
A blessing from God will continue my memory one more time.
Blazing eyes filled with passion for life can be so sublime.

My two sons will someday choose and marry for the right reason.
Through my eyes, we each get the opportunity to live another season.
What do you see when you are alone and see others holding hands?
Will you learn that life is more than simply making endless demands?

Love can and will prevail in so many different ways I can’t imagine.
Through my eyes, each time I think of her I look deep, deep, within.
What do you see when the children have finally left what is called home?
Perhaps, God will bless you with a companion so that you too can roam.

It is Christmas Day and there are new people running around with the old.
Through my eyes, pride blinds us so much, but that story has already been told.
What do you see when sitting around the table minus the forgiven one?
Focusing on a person’s good qualities is but one way the past can be undone.

There is a reason for everything that happens on this planet we call Earth.
Through my eyes, I see hope every time I hear of a mother giving birth.
What do you remember before you close your eyes each and every night?
Before you go to sleep look above and look within to see your sprite.

Through my eyes, words give meaning to all that I have been through.
Through my eyes, choosing to be a victim ultimately led to the end of two.
Through my eyes, I have chosen to focus on the next generation and beyond.
Through my eyes, there is no power left greater than love from a magic wand.
