Perchance this misery may be wept
and come moon time, sweet sleep may be slept
into the silence we settle so very still
and dark night keeps at bay every ill
and from my dreams of happiness I borrow
the hope to live through the coming 'morrow
tomorrow comes and calls the sunrise
I am yesterdays fool not more the wise
yet I shall tread on till my feet do bleed
and with my knuckles upon this soil I will knead
The destiny dream for which my heart doth beat
So God may look down from his Divine Kingdom seat
and permit me see his kingly smile
I have fought the battle and walked the mile
Time will tell when the pain has passed
and when Life is conquered at last
you will come to live with eyes that cannot weep
and submit you self to the silence of forever sleep
