Thunder Poem by Loraine Lotter

Thunder

You’re losing your mind, or so it seems.
A silly speculation.
You’re back and forth, so self-assured … naïve.
Our miscommunication.

And I can’t help but wonder,
this blame that we’re under
is due to the thunder
in our hearts.

We’ve been passing each other by.
I’m scared to see myself though your eyes.
If whenever I am on the edge,
I know that I am no more or no less
than the picture formed inside your head.
Just let go of the thunder.

We’ve been acting like we don’t give.
Too far apart and too full of it.
If whenever I am on the edge,
I know that I am no more or no less
than the picture formed inside your head.
So let go of the thunder.

I’m going insane, no doubt about it.
A little less than normal.
And you keep smiling like it’s times gone by.
Water under the bridge.

What more can I do just to prove to you.
Nothing’s changed apart from battles I’ve been through.
I just hope things will change, only for the good,
‘Cause we’ve both been misinterpreted
and clearly misunderstood.

Misinterpreted and misunderstood …
Misinterpreted and misunderstood …
