Tick Tuck Poem by Danny Ballan

Tick Tuck

Tick tuck sounds as the last hour goes
Marking the slow passage of time.
Seek what the last hour bestows;
See if this last peak you can climb.

Tick tuck, just one more moment;
As in there, there is not much left.
Dig out what's stored in your basement,
And hurry to use the last still packed gift.

Tick tuck went down all the years;
All went by tick tuck, yet we didn't feel
Any gone, but a thought froze beaten by tears.
Believe it. It's happening and hell it's so real.

Tick tuck, the bitterness has come and gone.
Should it be happy that finally we rest in peace,
Or mourn the lost chance in life to carry on
Towards a dream we've never been able to seize?

Tick tuck, I beg you just one more hour;
I would use it to make everything right;
I'd wash with my sweat all that's bitter and sour;
I would not cower, this time I'd stand up and fight.

Tick tuck, I know you're not able to wait.
I know I lost you and I am the one now you mock.
I know you were fair with me and always straight.
I know you gave me your all, your all precious tick - tuck.
