Tiger Poem by Cheryl Beresford

Tiger

You were my big brother,
there from the start,
being young and playful.

When i was three,
you left me a scar,
i used to hate it,
but now i treasure it,
as it reminds me of you.

You were always there,
when i come home from school,
you waited by the front door,
and meowed to come in.

At house parties,
you meowed for food.
especially at bbq's.

But then one day,
you lost weight,
you wouldn't eat or drink,
you just slept
and cried painful meows
you gave one last meow,
before you took your last breath,
and now you are buried under your special tree.
I miss you Tiger.
