Time Poem by Billy Juergens

Time

As time slows down, so do I.
Footsteps of dragging pace.
Breaths in long drafts,
Sucking in the warm air,
From stagnant sun and sky.

The others move quickly,
Bustling to their goals.
No sight of now.
Coat and footstep race,
For synthetic goals and life.

I search for the beauty of the world.
In some ways, I am disappointed.

Tree and air so perfect sit,
Below, the simple ground.
Footpath to the concrete frame,
With chain-link fence,
And elevator with dirty door.
Behind is grass, so simple pure,
But nature dies pragmatic ways.

I wonder whence beauty will return.
I let go my care.
I fade into time.
