Time Never Alters Poem by David Harris

Time Never Alters

Rating: 5.0

We look at time begrudgingly
saying there is never enough of it
to do all the things we want to do.
When we were young, it seemed
as if time lasted forever,
but as we grew older,
there never seemed enough of it
to last us through.
Time never alters;
it is only the pace
in which we live our lives that does.
As youngsters’ time to us meant nothing,
but as we get older, we are ruled by a clock.
One day we might realise
a clock should not rule our lives,
then we will see
we have more than enough time.

David, I like your thoughts in this poem, time limits us we rush to beat the clock. No time to be still, no time to refect on how things are. Does time help to make us happy? I think not. An enjoyable read. thank you. regards Bob

I cannot make up my mind, is time our enemy or friend certainly if we live long enough then just like sponges we will soak up such experiences that the afterlife will be one long warm bath of fragrant unforgetable memories. Tongue in cheek of course. regards Ann
