Time To Go Poem by Richard D Remler

Time To Go

................

I have overstayed my welcome,
The trees have all turned gray.
The clouds have overcast our twilight
And chased the day away.

The gentle breeze that Autumn brought
To cool off our lonesome eve,
Has packed up all her summer clothes
And she has taken leave.

The shadows now grow long and pale,
Against our coraled sea,
Where the craggy clefts gently unveil
Their vaunted history.

Yesternight is over. A new today is here
To let this aged neverbody know,
That I have overstayed my welcome,
And now it is time to go.
