Time To Leave Again Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Time To Leave Again

Rating: 5.0

After a long day
You are what I seek.
A quiet place where I can
Empty out my pockets and kick
My boots off at the door.
A place where I can leave
All my personal possessions &
Walk away knowing
That when I come back
everything will be just as I left them.
After a long day
I don't want to hear the million
Notifications and alarms of my
phone
That remind me of something
I may or may not have
forgotten
Or the constant pocket checks.
If I have done everything
I set out to do
Recollections of the last place I may have dropped anything.
The backtracking that has worry on speed dial & won't hesitate to call, regardless if everything is alright or not.
After a long day
I just want to arrive here & slide into
a buttery couch cushion and melt into the low hum of the fan.
My keys and wallet on the table
In front of me
& Catch up on all the time that
I've spent away from you.
After a long day
You are the peace before the storm
Starts back up again.
It is here where I am completely
safe
No matter how hard the storm
blows.
I know that everything is alright
Until it is time to leave again

You've hit the nail in the head, never end the day angry, and also never go to bed with yr loved one angry
