To A Lady Who Was A Great Talker Poem by Elizabeth Moody

To A Lady Who Was A Great Talker

If your friendship to take I must take too your clack,
That friendship, methinks, I could almost give back;
Yet for worlds would I not with your amity part,
Would you lock up your tongue when you open your heart.
