To A Modern-Day Mona Lisa Poem by C Richard Miles

To A Modern-Day Mona Lisa

Rating: 5.0

What are you wondering, wistfully?
Behind those mirrored sunglass shades
Is there a grim, fixed, steely stare
Or do you hide your troubled tears?

What are you pondering, purposely?
Is that unmoving, enigmatic smile
To draw me into glimpsed intimacy
Or keep me out behind the barrier?
