To A Teenager Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

To A Teenager

Rating: 5.0

Dear, I know not yet where you have gone
When the going lengthens into a day and longer still
Discounting all good things into a nightmare
One suspects something with you might not have gone honest
And in consequence comes your feelings
In shape of anger, pride and hurt
But I fail to understand why such rage inside
You building up the loneliness of island
I know you now as not a little boy
And yet not definitely a man
And what made you dress up like a king
To be assured a thing that you are ignorant
And what is that darkness that you couldn't outsmart
Dear, you may have good reason to be angry
And you may have good reason to be proud
And you may have good reason not to be hurt
But is this the way to be away with silence
And not talking about problems that hurt you
Sometimes happy and sometimes sad
Sometimes sleepy and sometimes bad
Strange I feel it rather
Not understanding your feelings so changing quicker
Dear, how fair it comes
The wonderful year when as a bud
You are being transformed into a flower
Vanquishing the hell of a frost coming your way
And becoming our loving dear
Dear, life may not be always of bright sunshine
In the sky is floating many a cloud
That may bring down tears very soon
When things of emotions are boiled
Cause vapors fly unto the mind-sky and
Being suspended there, make it heavier
To cool down as tears like rain
And as the rain refreshes all
So will you be refreshed thro' mist of tears
Dear, you are the star of our eyes,
Day of our day and night of our night
For the dawn is quite past
And now the freshness of day is felt here
Come back and unload your feelings
You will feel better
