To Affect Me Poem by Naveed Akram

To Affect Me

To affect me is to adventure on the prying sea,
Towards the horizon and fellowship of mankind.
The admiration will overwhelm and exhilarate,
Just so special eyes cast their weary deaths on you.

To affect me cancels the advice of a thousand years,
I am defender of the crown, overseer of justice,
Like the punisher and sustainer, who sees all oceanic
Water, river-like illness, and dying ailments.

To affect me creates a willingness in men and women
To conceive of creatures who exhilarate and fraternise,
So that religion is exactly the enemy of the devils,
And daemons proliferate and exert their chained fingers.

To affect me is to conceal me, half of the world is in difference,
Like the oceanic waters, as far as the eyes deliver their sight;
Those with feelings resent our conversations, and exert full
Movements so as to affect me and exert the fullness and strength.
