To Be Humble Or To Build Up One's Self-Esteem? Poem by Shane Dickie

To Be Humble Or To Build Up One's Self-Esteem?

Must one choose between being humble
And forgoing self-esteem,
Or can one act with humility and server God,
And yet hold on to self-esteem?
The answer I found though the writings
Of Apostle Paul; by serving the Lord,
One can access the raw power of
The might of God's word and His Law,
To be worn proudly like a soldier
Or an athlete's armor, it protects
Us from the works of the ungodly World
As well as give us an identity and strength
To be in this world and not be of it,
"For if God is with us, who can be against us"
Amen.
