We picked daisies in sunshine,
On bright summer days,
Searched for four leaf clovers,
Again and again.
We played hopscotch and kiss chase,
The things children do,
Beneath the bright sky,
We strolled through the dew,
Of the green grass through fields,
That stretched out for miles,
Life in those days,
Just fun and smiles,
Filled with contentment,
Never feeling the pain,
Of life all around us,
Just to be young again.
Worries appear as we grow older,
But we face the world with a reassuring shoulder,
Life brings strength,
Courage is the key,
But I long for those days,
To be young and free.
