To Be Yours Too Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

To Be Yours Too

sitting in my corner
I’ve already a journal
that made me count the days
until I eradicate shame
into your arms
the distance perfected
mockery and scorn
but I’m getting closer
the lamp agrees with me
the carpet rids of me
when I finally steal
that smile into my heart
when every breath I’d take
would be yours too
