Every word is a lie
Every breath makes me die
Every heartbeat a pain
Every touch, acid rain

Dont know how long I'll be waiting
To see what's never gonna come
Dont know why I'm still debating
When everything is said and done

There's naught but pain
With no reprieve
Tears will again
Fall through the sieve

But still I hold my tongue
For speaking can't be done
Pain consumes what used to be
Searing all the memories

I said it would be easy
That's what I thought to start
But it turns out forgetting
Is tearing out my heart

But I keep this to myself
So as to not hurt you
Cause after all that's why
This is what I go through

To protect you from
The things I've done
And what is yet to come

But of course it goes unnoticed
When no one wants to see
Blinded by love until
The world becomes a mystery

But all that matters
At least, to me
Is that you stay
Safe and happy
