To Choose Between Hate And Love Poem by Suki Nakamura

To Choose Between Hate And Love

Rating: 5.0

it is easy.
how i choose hate
or the lesser category of indifference?
you know very well from the very beginning
when there was no world yet
no stone
there was only space and
then there was light

equate light with love
love with truth
equate everything with openness
arms wide open
eyes with wonder
wander with feet
a stroll in the park
a walk on the beach
hands holding on to each other
hearts always beating

how can i ever choose hate?
i am tired of indifference of choosing to be numb and hollow
and steel and still and
hard and metallic
to all these pretensions

i open the door to let you in
no word
i embrace you tight and inside that kiss we stop breathing
no word i will give you no chance to speak

there are only lies that i will ignore.
let us make love and set the poems aside.

i let go these convolutions
remove the roots of my struggle to be free
i close my eyes i will not look at you
i settle only for what i feel
i kneel i worship you

there are no tears there are no more fears
after this moment

go away.
