To Father Poem by Seth Mutau

To Father

what a guy you were, showed love in silence and distance
i was young you were gone. The gate was our meeting spot.
i count the number of days that pass with my fingers without
seeing you.

i was young you were gone, too young to know Dad won't come
back. You were taken from me before i knew what emotions were
you were gone before i learned how to say I LOVE YOU TATE.

Sometimes i feel like crying, but the pride of being a guy holds the
tears from falling, though at times they fall on their own, they are tender
and warm, guess they feel my humble pain.

i was young you were gone, i have a dark cloud over my head
and it doesn't seem to get any better, i feel I'm in over time of missing you.

To my father [ Oscar Lubasi Mutau]
