To Hold You Poem by Faith Elizabeth Brigham

To Hold You

to hold you in my arms, my dear
to kiss your lips so sweet
to hear your heart beat
next to mine would be pure ecstacy

but while a moment's pleasure
with you would be divine
it could never be worth the pain
we would be sure to find

though sometimes my heart is heavy
i have said goodbye to misery
for our friendship is a precious thing
and a friend you have indeed
