To June Poem by Tom Billsborough

To June

Upon your distant Eastern strands
Waves still hover over seedless sands.
And memories of you remain
Suspended always in my brain
Constant as a favourite song,
You echo through my being.
You were right and I was wrong
In our sad and final parting
And yet the beauty of your smile,
Sparkling crests of sunlit foam,
Stillhovers in my soul a while
Now I am alone at home.
