To Lose Half Of Yourself Poem by Silenda Custos

To Lose Half Of Yourself

If only you have known,
how far apart we've grown.

Yet somehow even still,
the gap between us could be filled...

I've watched you many times again,
toss what once you sought to win.

All that you once held dear,
did you abandon out of fear?

For only one thing in a heart can prevail,
and on an evil sea of desire you have set sail.

How brutally it breaks my soul,
the ease with which you let go your hold.

On the faith that you once shared with me...
I suppose you now believe you're free.

But really? How chained down you are!
From freedom you are now so far.

I dearly hope you understand,
that Love even now holds out a hand.

But you have chosen, this I see,
to walk a path away from Love and me.

To mistrust you I have learned,
though to believe your words I long have yearned.

And still, I have my secrets too,
things I long have hid from you...

Farewell, you who were once a friend,
I still shall pray this is not the end.

For the heart can change (as yours has done) ,
perhaps one day to Light you'll run.
