To Me… Poem by Dr John Celes

To Me…

The blade of grass is as good as a bamboo-shoot;
The daisy, simple and beauteous, unlike the orchid;
The ant, more intricate than the elephant;
The hill, lovelier than the mountain-range.

The valley looks more gorgeous than the mount;
The forest-path much better than a highway;
The flower-bud and seed are simply awe-some;
The sun-rise and sun-set, so naturally amazing.

The birth of a creature is incredible;
The functions of the mind and heart, so complex;
The street-dog does its duties so well indeed;
The exalted vessel man ought to be like His Maker!

Why waste huge sums on unlikely wars and armaments?
Why be suspicious of your neighbor and nations around?
Why search for life in space and planets light-years away in vain?
Why deny the Almighty's love and timeless existence?

Faith alone can help you seek the truth called God;
All human faculties are limited and fallible;
God breathed life into the special clay called man;
His love made all things and longs to embrace man in heaven.
