To Miu On The Other Side Poem by Ipshita Chakraborty

To Miu On The Other Side

When will you understand Miu
That freedom is more than vast blue skies?
An eagle suffers hunger on a rainy day
When she needs shelter, flight does not suffice
She only looks to support her tired feet
That carry her wings and her eager eyes

When will you understand Miu
That the night is free and the day moist?
When fear enters with the morning rays
You search in angry faces; you need a crude voice
To tell you there is little freedom in flight
More in thought and the power of choice.
