Always a step behind, trying to keep up the pace
You were always there standing in front keeping the wind out of my face
No matter how hard I tried to get way ahead
There was always your guiding hand easing me back with a gentle pat on the head
At times I feel I was a bit of a nuisance
Always at the back of your heels
I never could put myself in your place or know just how it feels
What this little sister is trying to say is
'Thank you for helping and showing me the way'
I know you never thought I took you seriously or ever understood
But I did the best that my little mind could
Times have changed and we've grown apart
But there never has been a time that you were not in my heart
