To My Trusted Friend Willy Poem by Hannington Mumo

To My Trusted Friend Willy

May the Almighty upon you shower
All He has in his unfathomable heavenly store;
For to me you've done a million times more
Than anyone ever did to a friend.

Lament not my unfortunate predicament,
For to you it's sad this to know,
That my life is one huge depot of woe;
It can help not the tearful mourning of a friend.

My humbling fate with valor I'll bear,
And even if relief and light be not near
I'll consider for moment to shed a tear;
I may collapse to a helpless heap and mourn my fate,
But I promise that soon I'll stand before it be too late;
Be sure of this my dear and trusted friend:
Whatever happens I'll endure to the end!
