To Old Friends Poem by Salihu Mahe

To Old Friends

Rating: 5.0

The worst friends
They scold you
You mocked them
They pranked you
You fought them
They hate you
You hate them

The new ones
Advise you
They give you
What you need
But like seasons
They're changed
No fun times
No worst times
Their memories
May not last

The old ones
Departed
Your paths have
Diverted
But their influence
On you Like a dent
They're like a crater
That's permanent

All at once when
You meet again
Gushing streams
Of memories
The first bonds
The firms ones
The ones you
Never forget

To old friends
The lost ones
To best friends
The worst ones
