To The Girl Who Died Yesterday Poem by M. W.

To The Girl Who Died Yesterday

A girl died yesterday.
She was my good friend, a rival-
She was the only one who I couldn't beat.
Yet she died suddenly, in a second.

She told me, the day-before-yesterday's night,
Her worries, that she will one day lose to me.
I said no, she was always stronger than me,
And she said, well, she is a girl, and I am a boy.

I stood up and said,
Then lets do this-
Let's race who can be the strongest swordsman in the world,
That it will be either her or me, not anyone else.

She stood up, and smiled,
And said that she'll promise-
Her heart was strong,
But her fragile body died the next day,

Just because she fell down a flight of stairs.
